Our 2024 Discovery Trail:
Embark on the Discovery Trail and explore with the help of our map, featuring some of our amazing partners.
This activity is designed to be flexible — begin and end at any point that suits you.
How to Participate
- Get Started: Print your Discovery Trail map in advance here.
- Explore: Visit any three partner locations of your choice. There's no specific order, so feel free to roam freely.
- Collect Stamps: Receive a stamp from each location you visit.
- Enter to Win: Once you have collected three stamps, fill in your details on the map.
- Submit: Drop your completed map into the entry box located next to the Information booth.
- Prizes: By participating, you'll have a chance to win a daily prize from our friends at Switched on Kids.

Challenge: Hold the Load Da Vinci Bridge build. This new challenge in 2024 will certainly test your engineering skills. Can you imagine building an entire bridge with only the bridge materials to support it? No bolts, no welding, no rivets, no nails, no screws – nothing but the building pieces themselves supporting each other. Could that even be possible? Find out with Lockheed Martin.

Learn and Make: Educational Services Australia manages a range of free educational resources and services. This work includes the Digital Technologies Hub, the Mathematics Hub, and the Girls in STEM Toolkit (the GiST). Visit us to create your own mini air vortex cannon, pit your drawing skills against AI, find out if you have Maths Eyes, and explore STEM pathways and careers.
Australian Esports League
Try: The Australian Esports League will host an engaging gaming zone featuring a variety of esports tournaments presented by Inspiring SA. Visitors will be able to enjoy participating in a variety of games open for all skill levels, some down time in the free to play gaming zone or spectate tournaments shown on the esports stage.

Air Vortex Cannon
Challenge: The Toroidal Ring Vortex Generator is an enduring source of wonder for all. The first Ring Vortex Generator is a piece of equipment that releases doughnut-shaped air vortices — similar to smoke rings but larger, stronger and invisible. The vortices are able to ruffle hair, disturb papers or blow out candles after travelling several metres. This has to be seen to be believed.
